Why did they take out the buffet
We were in Missouri in mid-December for a graduation ceremony and a dentist visit. We talked about eating at the Red Barn all the way home. We were very disappointed that the breakfast buffet was a thing of the past. We ordered breakfast from the menu - it was ok but not great. I really wanted the sausages like they had on the buffet but it isn't available. Since we aren't going there two or three times a week any more, it really doesn't matter to anyone. Sad that new owners think business in Mt Vernon is done the same way as it is in Branson.

Cute littlw place for a quick bite to eat... I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was had good flavor, but was super tough. The Philly steak sandwich was fabulous!!!!! The fries were delicious!!!!

OMG!! Go here! Great comfort food. I had chicken strips, my husband had the chicken fried steak and out daughter had the Chicken enchilada salad! So yummy! Huge portions! Service was super friendly and so fast!!

We are traveling and stopped for the night. We were directed to this restaurant by the hotel we are staying at. We were greeted immediately. Our waitress was extremely kind and helpful. We chose to have breakfast even though it was supper time. I had the veggie omelet minus the onion with added tomatoes. It was wonderful. Also, had another big breakfast with eggs, ham, bacon, and sausage. It's a really good portion for the money. Staff very friendly 😊. Would recommend to anyone in need of a good hot meal.

Country Fried Steak Skillet was cut up country fried steak over Hash browns with diced peppers and tomatoes. Not sure why it was listed on menu as one of many choices skillet meal and served on a plate. Hash browns were crispy and the two eggs topping the plate cooked perfect for over medium. Parking tight and little difficult, but food worth it.
